STRAIGHT ARGENTINE LLAMA HERD
Of Sundance LB Stock Farm
Llamas have been an inspiration to us for many years. Steve has had Llamas since 1972, beginning with North American lines Later as the importations arrived from Chile and Bolivia, our herd expanded to include those lines as well.

We became acquainted with Paul and Sally Taylor and brought many Rebano Escondido Llamas from them to Oregon. In 2001 we were apart of the Argentine Importation that Paul and Sally organized, bringing six animals to Oregon from that now famous importation. The animals were exported from Argentine to Santiago, Chile then from there to the U.S. East Coast for quarantine and from there to Bozeman, Montana where we picked them up and transported them to their new home in Oregon.

We have been able to locate bloodlines from those original animals we assisted in bringing to the U.S. and are moving forward with this Straight Argentine blood in our breeding plans in order to keep the purity of this blood alive for years to come.

A grand male that has the Argentine look, Big Bone and very primitive looking. Lumberjack is a grandson of original imported animals Don Zunca and Machi. We are so thankful to have him in our pastures.

Artemis is a great grandson of some of the original imports. Artemis is a son of our Argentine Goosebumps. Artemis is also the sire of our two females: Argentine Copper Penny and Argentine Autumn’s Breeze.

Koda is steeped in the blood of our original imported animals. His sire, Diego is a Argentine Mate son and his dam, Argentine Kola is a Zula Zunca daughter. Zula Zunca was born at Sundance LB Stock Farm. Zula was out of our imported girl Argentine Loba. We are truly excited to see what Koda brings to the table when crossed with our straight Argentine girls.

Fangio is a great grandson of Argentine Mate who we imported in 2001. Fangio is a colorful male who is also a great grandson of the infamous Argentine Pecos. When we look at Fangio we see the wonderful color of Pecos. We are excited to use Fangio soon and look forward to seeing the colorful cria’s that he will produce. Thank you, Corky Dubois of Emerald Glen Farm, for allowing Fangio to come to Oregon.

Goosebumps is the dam of our Argentine Artemis. Goosebump has all the qualities of what we look for in a straight Argentine female. Big and feminine, but yet still has that primitive look to her. Goosebump brings it all to the table.

Zinnia goes back to our original imported female Argentine Loba thru her daughter Argentine Zula Zunca who was born at Sundance LB Stock Farm. Zinnia also goes back to our imported female Argentine Mate as well. We could not ask to have located a Argentine who has this much of our original blood in them. Big thanks go to Sonja Boeff of Zander Farms for being a huge part of us acquiring many of the animals we were looking to track down.

Breeze is a Argentine Artemis daughter. A big thanks to Bonnie Doble of Happy Dance Llamas for allowing us to bring both Breeze and Copper Penny home to Oregon. We look forward to seeing how Breeze produces as we perpetuate the Straight Argentine blood.
