HENRY BABSON 1932 IMPORTATION HISTORY
In 1932, Henry Babson, in his quest to breed Arabian horses of the highest quality journeyed to Egypt and purchased five mares, a colt and a stallion. The young colt died shortly upon arrival in the U.S...
The stallion *Fadl was used as a polo pony, an endurance mount and was very successful in the show ring in both halter and performance.
The mares *Bint Bint Sabbah and *Bint Bint Durra were equally as athletic and completed many distance rides. The other three mares were equally important to Henry’s quest to breed the highest quality. *Bint Serra I, *Maaroufa and *Bint Saada completed the original imported group.
Five mares and one stallion were the foundation of what today is known as Straight Babson Arabians... of which pedigrees of these Arabians trace back entirely to only these five mares and one stallion.
Straight Babson Arabians are well known for their athletic ability, beauty and temperament. Babson Arabians have the mindset that thrives in a training setting. The disposition of the Babson is second to none. Their personality is unbelievable along with their trusting and natural docile nature. Until you have owned one of these precious Arabians, it would be hard to know or understand just how unique they are in the equine world. There is power in the purity of the blood that runs through their veins. This precious blood is what maintains and continues the legacy that Henry Babson created nearly a hundred years ago.

SBE is used to identify Straight Babson horses and it refers to the STRAIGHT BABSON EGYPTIAN blood that flows thru these wonderful animals that trace back only to the original 6 imported horses.
